About Herman Schneider
The society is named to honor one of UC’s most visionary educators. First as dean of the College of Engineering, then as university president (1929-32), he pioneered the concept and practice we know as “cooperative education.”
His innovation is a hallmark of UC education and has been adopted by schools and universities worldwide.
